Rangers: Now Recruiting
Whatever you was doing? Wherever you were? It's now irrelevant. You see a sudden flash of light, a sensation like you're suddenly made of nothingness, and a rush of electric energy where you think your body must be. There's just enough time and consciousness for you to think that this is frightening, or strange, or perhaps cool, but in a second your body is whole again and you're sprawled on the cold hard ground in the darkness.
The space you find yourself in is dark, save for the twinkling white lights like stars that adorn the walls. As others warp in just like you have, streaks of colored teleportation energy fading around the outlines of their bodies, a ring of light illuminates the central controls. A number of control panels surrounds a central platform, the tops of the panels standing about at waist-height for an adult human. Each panel's outline is lit by a colored streak of light.
A single shape stands on the central platform, hustling and bustling to each successive platform. It's not human---the head is shaped like two cymbals crushed together, the limbs move a little too stiffly, and brightly lit buttons line its torso. It suddenly turns to spot your character, its red visor fixed on you as surely as a human's eyes would be. The little robot throws up its hands, waving you over after a moment.
"Ai yai yai. Ah...what should I say? Oh, that's right. Welcome, humans! And...others. You have been chosen to become Power Rangers."
Congratulations, you're about to find out just what that means.
[ooc: Your character has been given a morpher and a promise that they'll know what to do when they morph. Feel free to talk amongst the other recruits, badger Alpha, accept or refuse the offer at your leisure. No matter what, though, the call of battle will soon reach you, and your character will be teleported out into the wider world (and the call of battle). Don't worry, you'll be back in the Hexagon soon enough.]

Alpha gets a weird look - as does the whole place. She's never quite seen such things before. The magic train she encountered when traveling with Filia comes close, but not quite.
"...'Power Rangers'? Just what're you talking about, little golem? And what makes you think yanking me away from my business is gonna make me wanna cooperate with you?!"
no subject
Alpha flaps his hands with worry. How can he make these humans understand? He knows they're emotional, but this is a little much.

Speaking of, he hurries over to the control panel to ensure that all is still running smoothly. It seems to be.

"Guess that means talk of payment will have to wait," she says with a frown. "Though that will let me price things a bit better..."

"SOLD!" She steps up alongside Alpha and grins, smacking his shoulder lightly. "Alright, little golem, point me at your problems! There's not much that stands up very long against Lina Inverse!"
no subject
Alpha presses a series of buttons on the nearby console. A strange sort of wand with microphone-like decoration glitters into existence in Lina's hand.
"When you need power, activate this. You'll know what to do."
no subject
And then, as some very awkward memories come to the surface, she flushes bright red and leans into Alpha's personal space. "H-hey, what's the big idea with this thing, huh?! Last time I got tricked into using one of these goofy wands for power, all I did was wind up embarrassing myself!"

I can't remember how tall Alpha is.)"I'm not exactly convinced, but..." She frowns at the thing, then sighs. "I'll keep it as a backup - but if you turn out to be wrong, I'll hold you accountable, little golem!"
no subject
"You won't go wrong. You'll see."
no subject
He gave her one of those artless, childlike grins that said wow he figured something out awesome. "I get it! You're a girl, right?"
no subject
Lina freezes up when she feels that, but just for a moment before she whirls on the offending party. A kid, but one cheeky kid. One that just hit two of her big berserk buttons.
"YOU LITTLE BRAT, YOU'VE GOT SOME NERVE! BOM DI WIND!" Air swirls into Lina's hand and concentrates itself before being launched at Goku - about as much force as a strong punch, mostly intended to put distance between them and hopefully be intimidating.
no subject
"Hey, neat! How'd you do that?" Clearly, Lina had to be a martial artist! Her arms seemed a little noodly, but you couldn't judge by appearances.
no subject
"I...--" There's a deep breath, and a huff. "Do you have no sense of decency?! Personal space?! Mood-reading?!"
no subject
Besides, he was right, wasn't he? She was a girl. Unless --
"Oh. Did I get it wrong? That's funny, it almost always works..."
no subject
no subject
And how else was he supposed to tell if someone was a girl or not GOLLY, LINA
no subject
"Because you just don't! Those are called private areas for a reason!"
no subject
"Well, anyway, can you show me how to do that wind bomb thingie?"
