morphosis | Fight!

The final claiming of Earth has begun, or so our dear villains believe. As far as they're aware, there are no Rangers left to stop the invasion. Now it's simply a matter of 'persuading' humanity to surrender. Rita and company charge in, guns blazing so to speak. Their presence is quickly felt in Angel Grove's business district, turning over statues, flipping cars, and trapping citizens until they cower together in the fountain for shelter.

Unfortunately, there's a wrench in that plan arriving. Streaks of colored light hit the sky---white, black, red, orange, yellow, pink, blue. A horde of humanoids (and one pony) stand in the center of the action, witnessing all the damage. They've been given just their morphers and some cryptic advice: rely on the Power, it will protect you.

It was time to find out just how far their power could take them. Could this Earth be saved after all?

Those putties remind Yukiko of shadows. She hates the little buggers without a doubt so Putties would bother her too. But unlike the other rangers, Yukiko...doesn't call them out. Probably if she did it back home, it would be a bigger mess than expected. Instead, the red ranger snuck behind one of them and give it a good slash with her new razor fans.

Some of the people seemed to be a little surprised at the sudden appearance of some kid in spandex but nonetheless, she was here to help. Get rid of lackeys first then free the people. Sounds easy but even she doesn't know what she's doing.

Yu isn't much better off -- when they showed up here and he called for Izanagi, he was expecting his Persona to appear, not... this. Still, it was... pretty awesome... (okay, who was he kidding, his inner fanboy was screeching in glee right now) but still a bit confusing as to how his powers had been tampered with to end up like this.

Right now though, they had more immediate concerns, such as the shadow-like putties. Izanagi's blade was a little larger and slightly more unwieldy than he was used to, but he faked knowing how to use it properly... fairly well? At least he hasn't dropped it, and the putties are proving to be an excellent place to stick it so he can readjust his grip when he needs to.

He ripped the blade out of one, pausing to glance at Yukiko. He gave her a nod, trying to offer her some of his confidence.

"Just like the TV world."

How's this for TV? A group of them move in, attempting to pick up the new Rangers and toss them in the fountain. A bit of fun first, then maybe some skewering---they huddle closer together now, trying to keep the heroes from swinging their blades so easily in the open.

Yeah, try as you might Putty but there is no way Yukiko is getting in that water. But there was something nagging in the back of her mind, almost guiding her to try something she had never done without her persona. She couldn't explain it but the girl felt a warm sensation throughout her entire body. Is this what they meant by the Power guiding them?

Yukiko put her hand on the closest foot soldier and shouted:

"Agidyne!"

Suddenly...the Putty was ablaze, startling the other ones and possibly caught on fire as well.

Yu... was not so lucky. One of them managed to get a hand on him, lifting him up and tossing him toward the fountain. He somehow managed not to panic, reaching out a hand as instinct took over.

"Zio!"

And the putty that dared to lay hands on him would get a nice charge as he got a bath. Worth it, really.

And in a mass of lightning strikes and fire, clay goo rained out all over the area. It mostly bounced off their uniforms, but the surrounding area looked disgusting for a few moments.

Luckily, after that, it faded to dust.

But it wasn't quite over yet. Warriors swept in from the sky, frightening bird-humanoid hybrids, all black feathers, nasty beaks, and claws. They attempted to strike at the Rangers' helmets.

Try facing Izanami in her big boss form: that's scary right there.

"Back off!" Yukiko shouted as she slashed one of the Tengu Warriors in both feet. She is really loving these new fans right now and had to thank the little Alpha for providing them. But since there were more than one attacking them, it was time to spread her magic. On in this case, spread the fire to all surrounding enemies.

"Maragion!"

Yu let out a faint noise as he stood up, shaking the water from him... only to get pecked at. This really wasn't their day apparently, but Yukiko seemed to have it under control. Unfortunately, with all the fire and flying things, the people trapped on the fountain could end up as collateral damage.

He swung his sword up toward a spot where there was nothing but rope and fountain stone, cutting through the rope easily enough.

"Hurry, get to safety!" he cried, reaching up to help those that couldn't get down without help.

Ah, there was one Ranger distracted. Delighted, the warriors completely ignored the fleeing citizens and swarmed toward the bright spandex like moths to flame, They came three at a time, trying to occupy Yukiko's blades in the hopes that one would get by and have just enough time to take her down.

It was like swarm after swarm of monsters that kept on coming. Yu had the right idea of getting the civilians to safety and Yukiko was just going to keep the bullseye pointed right at her. But that didn't mean she wasn't going to stay put. Instead, the red ranger started running in the opposite direction, giving the fleeing citizens plenty of time to get out.

"I've dealt with worse than you freaks before."

Normally she would want to hit one at a time but these guys want to go all at once. And so when she was far enough away...

"Maragidyne!"

She let out a very strong fire attack on the group of lackey warriors. Just die already!

Forget about him? Probably a bad idea for the Tengu; Yu made sure the civilians were away, before he used the chance to give his attack a boost with Tarukaja and striking out at their ranks from behind.
