Fight!

The final claiming of Earth has begun, or so our dear villains believe. As far as they're aware, there are no Rangers left to stop the invasion. Now it's simply a matter of 'persuading' humanity to surrender. Rita and company charge in, guns blazing so to speak. Their presence is quickly felt in Angel Grove's business district, turning over statues, flipping cars, and trapping citizens until they cower together in the fountain for shelter.

Unfortunately, there's a wrench in that plan arriving. Streaks of colored light hit the sky---white, black, red, orange, yellow, pink, blue. A horde of humanoids (and one pony) stand in the center of the action, witnessing all the damage. They've been given just their morphers and some cryptic advice: rely on the Power, it will protect you.

It was time to find out just how far their power could take them. Could this Earth be saved after all?

[ooc: Thread it up! Run away, challenge baddies! I'll put up one or two threads for my own NPCing, but feel free to NPC your own monsters in your tags. The Zord battle section will be posted later, so watch this post! Villains, feel free to come down and taunt for some interaction as well.]

Applejack vaulted over chair after chair, looking quite disturbed. "Don't think they sell that kind around here. Why don't you make your own?"

She kicked one hard, knocking aside a few of the smaller baddies like bowling pins.

"ELMEKIA LANCE!"

A long bolt of yellow energy knocks one poor mook out from under his recliner before he could set it down, and the source of the blast of magic dropped in out of the air, landing in the now-grounded seat - and rather pleased at just how nice it was.

"...they're not thrones, but they are pretty nice chairs, gotta admit that."
badassfreakingoverlord: (dull surprise)

"Yeah, it is pretty comfy. Reclines pretty decently." Zetta flipped the lever on the side; the chair thumped back obligingly, sprawling his legs out.

"Uh, just checking, you guys are the heroes, and not just fervent shoppers attempting to get a deal, right?"

Applejack attempted to buck a table leg at his head.

"The only deal we've made is to stop you from wreckin' this here city."
dragonspooker: (Lookin' mildly heroic.)

Oh, right. Need to be fighting these guys, not enjoying the comforts of the modern world...

"Why can't we be both?" Lina shrugs, then stands up and puts on a somewhat serious face before pointing in Zetta's direction. "Guys like you wreckin' a place make it pretty hard to shop - but if I take you out, then I can use that as leverage to get a pretty sweet deal!"

...wait, what just flew past her head?
badassfreakingoverlord: (my point is made!)

The table leg zinged off Zetta's head without him appearing to notice. Zetta didn't even bother to get up.

"Go, my battle-monkeys!" he bellowed, jabbing a finger at the two heroes. "Bust a cap in their asses! In a very non-literal sense!"

The minion horde immediately turned its attention from plundering to injury. A sinister chuckle rose up from the crowd as the demons equipped swords and axes, the catkid equipped a katana, one plant monster equipped a UFO for some reason, and a Prinny led the charge, brandishing a loveseat like a greatclub.

"Whoa, hey!"

Applejack knew she needed a better weapon than her hind legs. On instinct,, she reached for her lasso, whipping it with her tail. She did her best to jump about and tie up their enemies, rope flying everywhere and tying in knots, but she was clearly losing to superior firepower.

"Can't...agh, can't take 'em." She glanced down at her necklace, a hint of fear hitting her. Could it be...
dragonspooker: (I cast Magic Missile!)

Once the creatures drew weapons, Lina jumped back, closer to Applejack. "Now we're getting down to business!"

Arcane gestures were made, and orange light gathered in Lina's hands before it was released at a chunk of the monster crowd- "Rune Flare!"
badassfreakingoverlord: (gonna mess you up so bad)

The lances of light burst violently around the monsters and demons, rocking them backwards and sending several flying.

"They're going to use explosions, are they?" Zetta growled from his comfy chair. "Well return fire in kind! Also, aren't black magic girls supposed to dress a lot more fanservicey than this?"

One of the demons shouldered his way out of the flaming rubble of a recliner, then seized a nearby Prinny. "Aww, crap, dood!" the penguin exclaimed, as with a mighty heave, the warrior lobbed it at the pair of ad hoc Rangers.

Applejack found herself back in the fray again, bucking the Prinny back at Zetta. Was she ready for a volley? Oh yes.

---but she found that her strength wasn't quite enough this time. She faltered, hitting the ground. No. Did that mean?

Her eyes flashing with anger, she jumped into position, kicking up her front legs as her necklace glowed. "Element of Honesty!"

The apple charm on her necklace emitted a burst of light, same as usual. What wasn't the same as usual was that the light centered on her, encasing her in a suit the likes of nothing she'd seen before. It felt confining, it felt uncomfortable, but what was important was that she felt strong.

With a little yell, she bounded forward. On instinct, she bucked the Prinny right back.
